Patrick Matthews was born and raised in Athens, Georgia. Patrick graduated from Kennesaw State in 2019 where he majored in Business Administration. In 2024, Patrick received his Juris Doctor from Mercer University, Walter F. George School of Law and was admitted to the State Bar of Georgia. He looks forward to combining his passion for both business and real estate in his career as a real estate attorney.
Josie S. Welch
Josie Welch was born and raised in Alpharetta, Georgia. Josie graduated from the University of Georgia in 2021 where she majored in International Affairs. She went on to earn her Juris Doctor from Mercer University School of Law, graduating in 2024. Josie was admitted to the State Bar of Georgia in 2024.
Jonathan M. Steele
Jonathan Steele is from Dawsonville, Georgia. Jonathan graduated from Emory University in 2020 where he majored in Computer Science and minored in both mathematics and economics. In 2024, Jonathan received his Juris Doctor from the Georgia State University College of Law and was admitted into the State Bar of Georgia. Jonathan delights in Appalachia, his family, and the Bible.
Sarah O’Kelley Hicks
Sarah O’Kelley Hicks was born and raised in Alpharetta, Georgia. Sarah earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Communication & Information Sciences and Bachelor’s Degree in Dance from the University of Alabama, graduating Cum Laude in 2019. Sarah went on to earn her Juris Doctor from Georgia State University College of Law, graduating in 2022. Sarah was admitted to the State Bar of Georgia in 2024.
Kevin F. Duda
Kevin Duda was born and raised in Toledo, OH. Kevin received his Bachelor’s Degree in Finance from Miami University (OH) and his J.D. from The University of Toledo College of Law. Upon graduating from law school, he moved to Atlanta, GA in the summer of 1996 where he has been and active, practicing attorney ever since. Kevin has practiced in a wide range of legal areas including as a public defender, operating his own private practice, in-house counsel, and in his current practice in real estate and real estate litigation. In his free time, Kevin enjoys wake boarding on the lake, scuba diving, golfing, and managing his two sons travel ice hockey teams.
Carolyn S. DeWindt
Carolyn Dewindt was born and raised in St. Thomas, USVI. Carolyn graduated from Alfred University in 2001, where she majored in Political Science with focus in both Public Administration and Psychology. After serving in the Army, Carolyn attended West Michigan Thomas Cooley Law School where she completed her Juris doctorate Degree. After passing the bar exam, Carolyn became a solo practitioner while teaching Business Law at Miami Dade College. Today she is excited to be a member of O’Kelly & Sorohan’s Litigation team.
Mariam N. Akbar
Mariam Naz Akbar was born in Atlanta and raised in Macon, Georgia. She graduated from Oxford College of Emory University with an Associate Degree in 2018 and from Emory University in 2020 with a Bachelor’s in Psychology and a minor in Sustainability Sciences. In 2023, she received her Juris Doctor from Nova Southeastern University with a concentration in Health Law and a Silver Pro Bono Honor Award for outstanding hours spent providing legal aid. She admitted to the State Bar of Georgia the following year. An active member of her community, she serves on the Oxford College Alumni Board as well as founding the Emory University APIDA Alumni Board. Now, Mariam is excited to be a practicing attorney in her home state and favorite city.
Jessica L. Larsen
Jessica Larsen was born and raised in Alpharetta, Georgia. Jessica graduated Cum Laude from Florida State University in 2019 where she majored in International Affairs with focuses in both Sociology and Political Science. In 2022, Jessica received her Juris Doctor from Georgia State University College of Law and was admitted to the State Bar of Georgia. After passing the Georgia Bar Exam, Jessica moved to Charleston, South Carolina where she worked in the Title Insurance Industry. Today, she is overjoyed to be back and practicing real estate law in her home state of Georgia.
Jared T. Stedman
Jared Stedman was born and raised in Lawrenceville, Georgia. Jared attended Georgia Gwinnett College, where he would receive his Bachelor’s in Political Science with a concentration in International Relations in 2019. In 2023, Jared received his Juris Doctor from Georgia State University’s College of Law and was admitted to the State Bar of Georgia. Jared previously worked with a Family Law Firm in Dunwoody, Georgia, however he is excited to be practicing Real Estate Law at O’Kelley & Sorohan.
Renee R. Davis
Renee Davis has practiced residential real estate law in the metro Atlanta area for almost 25 years. She started her legal career in corporate tax, but quickly realized she preferred working with agents and homeowners. Renee lives in Sandy Springs with her husband, children and two Cavalier King Charles Spaniels. She enjoys cooking, traveling and cheering on the Georgia Bulldogs.
